Hannah Ballard

MS CCC-SLP

Hi, I’m Hannah! I’m originally from Harnett County, North Carolina, and I’m excited to support children and families through their communication journeys. I earned my B.A. in Music from Campbell University in 2018. Before becoming a speech-language pathologist, I taught piano, voice, and guitar lessons, which sparked my love for using creativity, music, and play to connect with and educate children. I went on to earn my M.S. in Communication Disorders from East Tennessee State University in 2024. At ETSU, I worked as a graduate assistant in the Auditory Verbal Therapy Clinic at the NAVE Center in Elizabethton, TN. While working with this population, I developed a passion for working with children and adults with hearing loss. This experience taught me how important early access to language and communication is for a child’s development and helped shape my family-centered approach to therapy. Since becoming a speech-language pathologist, I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings, including early intervention, private practice, and skilled nursing facilities through travel therapy throughout North and South Carolina. Most recently, I worked with preschool- and school-aged children in Horry County, South Carolina schools during the 2025–2026 school year.

I believe therapy should be engaging, meaningful, and tailored to each child’s unique interests and needs. I love incorporating music, art, books, and imaginative play into sessions because children often learn best when they’re having fun and doing something they enjoy. I also value working closely with families and helping parents feel confident supporting their child’s communication skills outside of therapy. When I’m not working, you can usually find me browsing the children’s book section in stores for new therapy ideas, working on an art or craft project, spending time with my three cats, or practicing ASL. I’m looking forward to getting to know your family and helping your child grow as a confident communicator!
