Mackenzie earned her Doctor of Occupational Therapy degree (OTD) from Virginia Commonwealth University. Throughout her education, she has built a strong foundation in neuroscience, evidence based practice, and the therapeutic process.
Her favorite part about working in a pediatric setting is facilitating the fun in functional! Mackenzie prioritizes child-centered care in every session in order to address the unique needs of each child and family. She is passionate about collaborating with parents to create individualized activities to best suit their child’s occupational needs and daily routines. Mackenzie has experience with sensory processing & integration, fine & gross motor coordination, social-emotional regulation, handwriting, reflex integration, executive functioning, and general developmental delays. She is skilled at creating the “just right” challenge in order to foster functional skills and confidence in everyday activities!
During her free time, you can find her reading Harry Potter, hiking, traveling, or playing with her 2 cats, Gandalf & Dobby. Her current bucket list is visiting all 63 National Parks from which she has already visited 48!
