Rachel was born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina where she has lived practically her entire life. She received her bachelor’s degree in Communication Disorders from Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina in May of 2020, where she also minored in Spanish. She returned to the area to receive her Master of Science in Communication Disorders at North Carolina Central University in May of 2022.
Rachel has spent lots of time with the pediatric population from babysitting, helping with church nursery and children’s programs, counseling at camp, and now as an SLP. She loves engaging children through play and encouraging them to learn and grow in the areas of speech and language. She has experience with pediatrics in the areas of receptive/expressive language disorders, articulation disorders, phonology disorders, and childhood apraxia of speech. She has worked with different diagnoses including Autism Spectrum Disorder and Down Syndrome. She has a special interest in working with the bilingual population in the area of early language development. In her free time, you will find Rachel fishing with family, painting, reading, playing piano, and hanging out with friends.
Rachel creció en Raleigh, Carolina del Norte, donde ha quedado casí toda de su vida. Ella recibió su título en Desórdenes de la comunicación en la Universidad de Bob Jones en la ciudad de Greenville, Carolina del Sur, donde también estudió el español. Ella volvió a la área para recibir su maestría en Desórdenes de la comunicación en la Universidad Central de Carolina del Norte en 2022.
Rachel ha pasado mucho tiempo con la población pediátrica en varios programas en su iglesia, un campamento de verano, y ahora como un patólogo de habla. A ella le gusta jugar con los niños y animarles a aprender y crecer en las áreas de habla y lenguaje. Ella tiene experiencia en trastornos del lenguaje, problemas de articulación, desórdenes fonológicos, y apraxia del habla infantil. Ella ha trabajado con niños con diagnóstico de autismo y síndrome de Down. Ella tiene un interés especial de trabajar con la población bilingüe en la área del desarrollo temprano del lenguaje. En su tiempo libre, a ella le gusta pescar con su familia, pintar, leer, tocar el piano, y pasar tiempo con amigos.
